Why Open Source

FPV runs on Open Source software. Betaflight flies the quad, ExpressLRS carries the radio link, AM32 spins the motors. That software runs on hardware that is almost all closed: no schematics, no layouts, no way to check or repair what you bought.

OpenDrone closes that gap. Every flight controller, ESC and receiver design is published with its KiCad files under CERN-OHL-S. You can read the design, build it, fix it and improve it.

What you can order

  • OpenFC Lite flight controller, 20x20 and 30x30
  • OpenESC running AM32, 20x20 and 30x30
  • OpenRX ExpressLRS receivers: Lite, Lite-UFL, Mono and Gemini
  • OpenFrame 3 and 5 inch
  • OpenMotor 1604 and 2306

Dates

  • Batch 1 of OpenFC Lite and OpenESC ships from Belgium to EU addresses in early November 2026.
  • Batch 2: Everything else is a preorder for the EU, the United States and the other countries offered at checkout. Orders count toward a funding target that closes on 15 December 2026. If the target is reached, your order ships by 31 March 2027. If it is not, you choose a refund or to keep waiting.
  • Early orders cost less: up to 20 % off retail while the first units of each board last.

See the preorder page for prices, targets and dates per country.
